EC Urged to Conduct Credible Elections |

The Supreme Council of the Noble Order of the Knights of Marshall, a fraternal Catholic organisation, has added its voice to the call on the Electoral Commission (EC) to conduct credible and fair elections so that the results will be accepted by all Ghanaians. |
“We caution that the record of the earlier elections held in Ghana since 1992 will be the standard for measuring the 2008 elections,” it said.
This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the Council’s Semi-Annual Meeting held at Sekondi in the Western Region. It was signed by the Supreme Knight, Sir Knight Edward Aloysius Prah.
According to the statement, Ghana’s position in a region full of turbulent upheavals demanded that its people worked to preserve the peace, unity and tranquility prevailing in the country.
“We realize the need for the peace that we enjoy not to be taken for granted and in which regard we pray for complete tolerance of one another no matter our diverse backgrounds, religious persuasions and political affiliations,” it admonished. |
