The summit will be President Kufuor’s last as President of Ghana and he will use the opportunity to wish his colleagues well.
An official release said the meeting will focus on "Meeting the Millennium Development Goals on Water and Sanitation" and will be preceded by the 19th Summit of the Heads of State and Government Implementation Committee on the African Peer Review Mechanism.
A number of countries, including Nigeria and Kenya, are billed to go through peer review at the summit, while Togo will sign on for future review.
Other items on the agenda, according to the release, include the issue of the Union Government for Africa, the global food and fuel crisis, and the current electoral impasse in Zimbabwe.
The President is expected back home on Wednesday, July 2.
